Important things to note about Repatriation:
If someone has died in Barbados and you wish to bury or cremate them in another country, the death will need to be registered in the country where the person passed away, it is a legal requirement.
The arrangements that need to be made after this stage are extremely complex and a funeral director should be contacted to complete the process of gathering the necessary paperwork.
The funeral director will liaise with the relevant authorities to gather the relevant documents needed to arrange transportation.
In addition to the aforementioned, please see procedure.
- Identification required.
- Removal of the deceased.

Sometimes, if the funeral is delayed for some reason or if the body has to be transferred to another country, embalming is mandatory. We have experienced, qualified staff who will carry out the embalming process and at all times the body will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity.)
